After returning from Rich and Amy's for Thanksgiving we enjoyed an unusually warm November Holiday weekend. On Friday we went downtown to see the Christmas displays and lights. In this picture Jacob is in front of a tree that's at the center of a small seasonal ice rink. Jacob wanted to go skating! The trip was a little less than Utopian, because Mom forgot to bring the stroller, and Jacob, much like his mother at this age, doesn't not love to walk far distances! But we did see some cool windows at Macy's. On Saturday morning Josh took Jacob to the zoo to see the Polar Bears (no pictures of this, boo hoo!). The polar bear exhibit is new, and so Josh avoided a crowded zoo by going early. This afternoon we went to the "dinasaur park" near CMU. It was nearly 70 degrees! Jacob and Josh played for a long time on the slide. They had a blast! Then we went to a nice restaurant called Point Brugge and had a small dinner.

thanksgiving with rich, amy, jackson and violet

On Thanksgiving day we took a walk through the park below Amy and Rich's house. It was cold! The boys threw rocks in the stream. Baby Violet is one of the calmest, happiest and most delightful infants Josh and I have ever been around! Good job Rich and Amy! Amy made a super meal and we were joined by Rich's dad Jack and his wife Lynn. Jackson was a really thoughtful host; Jacob especially loved the tower that launched the marbles. We had to drive back to Pittsburgh Thursday night because Josh had to work today. So today Jacob and I have been hanging out around the house, playing "pee pee on the potty" and "It's MY meet meet" and trying to clean the house. Tonight we're going to see the Christmas lights downtown and tomorrow we're going to see the new Polar bear exhibit at the zoo!
