Fourth of July in Sylvan Park, Nashville, TN

We have moved into a very friendly, quiet neighborhood that we have really enjoyed (except for getting our car stereo stolen the first night we spent here!). On the fourth of July the Sylvan Park neighborhood sponsored a kiddy parade. Jacob and I made his stroller into a red, white, and blue airplane with wings, a steering wheel, and a propeller. Casey wore her "LIVE FREE OR DIE" t-shirt, made especially for the occasion. Josh wore some goofy glasses. Mom is not pictured here, since she who posts the blog does not have to have embarrassing pictures posted of herself. Jacob's airplane won for "best decoration" in the kiddy parade. His prize was a cool ball and catch set with velcro paddles.

Beautiful Children

Even with the chaos of unpacking, etc., we have still taken the time to snap some pictures of our kids. Jacob is doing well in his new environment. He has a new school called the Cooperative Child Care Center, and he goes there 3 days a week. The other 2 days he plays with mom and Casey. Casey just gets more gorgeous and more interesting every day. Here are some pictures of them both!

Enjoying the Gregson Family in Alabama

The best part about our new location so far is getting to spend time with Josh's parents and siblings in Cullman, Alabama (not far from Huntsville). We have made the two hour trip twice so far since we've lived here in the South, and both times it was really wonderful to see Jacob and Casey with their grandparents. Here are a few pictures of baby Casey with her Grandma and Papa Gregson.

What a long strange trip it's been

Our journey to Nashville was relatively short, but the time and effort it took to pack up in Pittsburgh and settle in here in Guitar City has been prodigious. For the help of Josh's mom, Kathy Gregson, and our sister-in-law, Nancy Gregson, we can never offer enough thanks. They flew to Pittsburgh on June 9th, and they were virtually enslaved there for 7 days as we packed the house and packed the truck. We let them out of the house one time to see the beautiful Chihuly exhibit at the Phipps. On Friday, June 15th, Kathy Gregson, Nancy, and Jacob took off for Nashville in the car, while Josh, Casey and I finished cleaning and packing the house. Josh left Pittsburgh with all of our stuff at 2:00 AM that night---after dropping off me and Casey at the home of Mike and Kellie---who also provided much needed shelter during a difficult time!

When Josh, Kathy Gregson, Nancy and Jacob arrived in Nashville, Papa Gregson (Bogie) and Josh's brother Joe were there to help. In two days they had the truck unloaded and the house cleaned of cat hair (which was everywhere). Kathy Newman and Casey had the most luxurious of journeys; we flew to Nashville on Sunday, and came home to a happy but tired gang of hard-workers. THANK YOU GREGSONS!
